It’s been a couple of years since we caught up with BRKCHK but the man has been plenty busy in the intervening years playing shows around the Houston area and running Multilux Recordings with partner in crime Amathyst. We jumped at the chance to get him onto the Dojo Mix series and the resulting mix is a pleasure to listen to; deep, liquidy selections from Random Movement, Technimatic and more plus a couple of tasty new BRKCHK productions. We’ve been keeping an ear out for fresh music from Peterborough producer Bereneces since hearing his releases for T3K and Onset Audio, so naturally we jumped at the chance to get him on board for a mix! Taking things to truly subsonic depths with his selections, Bereneces brings the gritty, ominous halftime flavours with a host of dubs alongside beats from the Onset Audio and T3K back catalogues. If you like your D&B dark and minimal you’re in for a treat.

Belgian trio Bredren join the ranks of the Dojo Mix series for our 38th instalment! With releases on Dispatch, Flexout, Demand, Blendits, Proximity and more, the Bredren team have been carving quite a reputation for themselves in the five years since their debut release. Their latest EP for Flexout is some of their best work yet, so we jumped at the chance for a mix and the results don’t disappoint!

Blending brand new cuts from the likes of dBridge, Skeptical and Acid Lab with a handful of classics and a couple of dubs, Bredren have served up a top notch tech rollout with equal parts grit and soul in the mix. Firing selections indeed!

With releases for the likes of Authentic Music, Boundless Beatz and T3K, Dennis Leick has been carving out quite a reputation as both a producer and DJ, gigging regularly across his native Deutschland.

His mix for DNB Dojo builds slowly from deep halftime numbers through harder techstep and into dangerous, threatening amens including Dojo favourite Destroyer of Worlds. Sick selections!

DNB Dojo Mix Series 32: Thomas B

We’ve got another transatlantic hookup on our latest mix as we welcome Arizona-based producer and DJ Thomas B to the Dojo Mix Series! Having proved himself behind the decks in the late 90s New York rave scene under the name Tarzan before relocating to Tuscon in the early 00s, nearly two decades in the scene have informed Thomas’s recent forays into production. Those forays have born forth some of the most forward thinking 170BPM music to cross our inbox, and found him a home at Quentin Hiatus’ excellent Free Love Digi imprint.

Thomas’s selections for this mix span future bass from the likes of Shades, Alix Perez and Signs and more conventional rolling D&B from Xtrah, Noisia and more, plus of course plenty of music from the FLD family. Firing tunes and pinpoint mixing; serious skills!

Our latest mix comes from Canadian rising star Alex Reflektor. As one third of the Reflektor production trio his work has seen release for C Recordings with more beats due later this year on Black Tuna Recordings. As the group’s sole DJ Alex has flown the Reflektor flag in support of the likes of Metrik, Logistics, Drumsound & Bassline Smith and Cyantific.

For his Dojo mix Alex has chosen a fine selection of liquid rollers followed by a few techier numbers to close things out. Melodic numbers from the likes of BCee, LSB and Lenzman all feature in a smooth hour long ride. Tasty stuff!
