Today’s premiere comes from Brazil via French label Weapons of Choice as L-Side remixes fellow countryman Simplification’s dirty roller Awesome Days. Amping up the bassline scuzz and swapping out the drums for a devastating assault of chopped up amens, this one does exactly what it says on the tin! Sick tune! Look out for this alongside other remixes from Bou, Redeyes and Jayline; the EP drops Sep 1st exclusively at Juno.

Top 5: Feijai
Taking influence from the early Moving Shadow, Metalheadz and Good Looking sound, Feijai’s new EP for The Dreamers took us straight back to the 90s sound when it landed in the Dojo inbox. Naturally we had to pick the man’s brains on his influences, so here are the top five classic tunes from the Midlands-based producer…
Premiere: Breaka – Tempted
Another top notch crossover footwork jungle effort from Beat Machine is in our spotlight today and this time it’s Leeds producer Breaka on the buttons! Infectious riddims, crispy beats and a seriously catchy vocal hook…yes please. Watch out for 7″ vinyl and digital dropping July 19th…
Premiere: Stranjah – Rushplate
Toronto artist Stranjah (one quarter of new outfit Vortex) is in our premiere spotlight today with a track from his brand new Power LP. Bringing together gritty bass with a fearsome breakbeat assault, this one is pure jungle chaos! Ruffneck business! Out now via the Deviant Audio Bandcamp…get to getting.
Sinistarr – Swinging Flavors #6 [Beat Machine]
US experimental beatsmith Sinistarr steps up with the latest for Beat Machine’s excellent run of Swinging Flavors 7″ releases, serving up an infectious take on the footwork-infused D&B sound. As with most of Sinistarr’s best work this one is all in the drums, with some wicked percussive fills giving the tune little bursts of extra energy.
As with previous instalments of the series the label have commissioned a big remix and this time it’s Om Unit who delivers it under his recently revived Philip D. Kick alias. Adding some extra drive in the bassline and a jungle-y feel in the drum section, this is an extra layer of icing on an already excellent sonic cake.
Last but by no means least, Sinistarr delivers a digital bonus replete with skittering drum patterns and wobbly sub bass textures on Clear Your Mind. Three wicked tracks from a series (and indeed a label) that has yet to disappoint us here at Dojo HQ! Check it out below and hit up the Beat Machine Bandcamp to grab it on vinyl or digital now.
Premiere: Indigo Virus – Signals
Old school break chopping vibes in our premiere spotlight! Taken from the new 36 Hertz Recordings Back To The Bass Volume 5 compilation, Berkshire producer Indigo Virus is on fine form for this one, combining vintage jungle breaks with deep sub hits and soft pads for a serene take on the classic D&B sound. Fans of Andyskopes, Paradox and the like should definitely check this one out…watch out for the album dropping June 25th at Bandcamp.
Premiere: Gremlinz & Jesta – Confrontation Pt. II
Today’s exclusive comes from a special new project on Paradise Lost Recordings entitled The Gates of Charon. Featuring a mixture of D&B and experimental electronica, the album is billed as an original soundtrack and features a strong sci-fi concept, deftly weaved by a variety of producers including Fre4knc, HLZ, Survey, Boot, Rakoon, DYL and more.
For our premiere we picked gnarly amen banger Confrontation Pt. II from Canadian breakbeat heroes Gremlinz and Jesta. Short but sweet, the track builds atmosphere via terse sound designs before dropping into a frenzy of breakbeats, but as soon as that chaotic drop arrives it’s gone, as the track fades out and into the next part of the story. Check it out below and watch out for the album coming Jun 22nd.
Premiere: Frame – Primitive Jungle
The Dreamers return to our premiere spotlight with Italian producer Frame back for a second EP, following up his excellent Natural Sound EP from last year. Primitive Jungle brings together classic breaks with a pallet of faintly neolithic soundbytes for a playful slice of D&B that at once sounds faintly retro and very 2018. Wicked stuff! Look for this alongside at all good digital stores from June 14th.
Premiere: Lynch Kingsley & Neve – Deadly
Rua’s talent for signing exciting releases from artists at the cross-section between D&B, jungle, halftime and other bass music influences continues on today’s exclusive as we present the premiere of Lynch Kingsley & Neve’s Deadly! Blending dub vocals, deep bass, skittering breaks and a halftime backbeat, this is pure slow-fast euphoria; proper head-nodder! Look for this on vinyl and digital from June 29th alongside three other sick new beats from Lynch…
