Premiere: Ghast – Find Our Love
Ghast lands on frequent musical home Free Love Digi with a sick new single and we’re hyped to have the exclusive on lead track Find Our Love! Haunting strains of melody and intricate drum programming make for a powerful composition…watch out for this coming Apr 30th at Beatport and Bandcamp!
Trilo & Vegas – Rush (Kemal Remix) [Bad Taste]
Kemal’s return to the scene continues! Following the release of a slew of remasters and a handful of new tracks via the Kemal & Rob Data Bandcamp, the neurofunk pioneer touches down on Bad Taste with a fresh remix for Trilo and Vegas.
This new take eases off on the raw bassline aggression of the 2019 original, focusing instead on a hypnotic synth lead for maximum earworm energy, lending a taste of old-school rave to the modern D&B sound. Delicious and tantalising…here’s hoping for plenty more where this came from. Check out the track below and hit up the Bad Taste store to pre-order a copy right now – the remix drops Apr 30th.
Guest Mix: pyxis
Twenty years deep in the music industry and channelling a deep knowledge of all things D&B, pyxis’ forays into production over the last two years have established her as one of the scene’s best up and coming liquid producers. With releases for Goldfat, Soul Deep, Eloisa and Liquid Drops plus her excellent work on the Headsbass / Beats in Mind project we jumped at the chance to get a guest mix!
As you’d expect this one is melodic vibes through and through, the perfect soundtrack to the current crop of sunny weather here in the UK. Smooth and rolling, just how we like it! As always you can check out the mix via Soundcloud below or head to Youtube or iTunes to stream. You can also grab a download from Google Drive.
Premiere: John Rolodex – Until the Sky Takes Me (Loomis Remix)
Loomis doing what he does best on today’s exclusive, dialling up the atmosphere with a super deep, jungle-tinged remix for John Rolodex! This is out now on Bandcamp and Spotify as part of the MACH X 02 EP, with full release dropping tomorrow.
Premiere: Millstreet – Help Myself
Beats In Mind return with volume 6 of their superb Headsbass series of compilations and we’re pleased to present the premiere of Millstreet’s Help Myself! Delicate liquid melodies and rolling drum breaks…yes please. The first single from the LP drops Apr 23rd, with more following in May, and as always all proceeds will go towards mental health charities.
Ben Verse – Crashing Cars EP [Rebel Music]
The often debated status of MCs within the D&B scene is certainly a hot-topic on certain D&B-focused Facebook groups and message boards, where detractors are prone to question the artistry of the scene’s lyricists. We’re sure said-lyricists have better things to do than concern themselves with online bad-mouthing, but nonetheless the emergence of more MC-led releases seems to provide a suitable riposte to the naysayers.
Ben Verse joins that burgeoning tradition with four great new cuts for Rebel Music. Production comes courtesy of a selection of up and coming talents with Wingz, Inner Terrain, Creatures and Screamarts providing a beat each. All four producers provide weighty but retrained sonics, allowing the lyrical content space to breath and Ben ample opportunity to flex his vocal chords.
That vocal style is nothing short of compelling too; smooth and controlled, varying from melancholy and introspective to pressing and insistent. If Verse hasn’t already caught your attention via his previous appearances with the likes of Maztek, Icicle, Calyx & Teebee and of course Pendulum then this EP surely should; hit up Beatport to grab it right now.
DNB Dojo Podcast #54 – Apr 2021

Classic Track: Eze-G – Worlds of Confusion
With one foot firmly planted in his own forward-thinking spin on hardcore and the other toeing the edge of a nascent jungle sound in the 1993 track Worlds of Confusion, Eze-G is underrated in my book. Just one of multiple aliases under which Gareth Oxby produced a tightly focused range of electronic music, Eze-G’s style fittingly represents a main tenet of what drum & bass has always been about: fusion.
Worlds of Confusion is the standout tune on the EP bearing the same name released by label Unatural Light (the remix of this tune released the following year is also great with a sound even more within the domain of jungle).
Noteworthy in the design is how much depth is added to the song through simple yet effective pitch shifting on the vocal cuts. Original use of the amen break, wispy pads, and enlivening vocal samples all come together to form a unique experience smack dab in the middle of hardcore and jungle – don’t miss it!

Minimal tech damage from Leo Zen on today’s exclusive as we present the title track from his new EP for Druid Records.
