Addictive Behaviour celebrate their first birthday this month with a podcast from new signing Artifact and a free release featuring a track from him and new beats from TR Tactics and L33. We figured it was high time to catch up with the crew for a chat, so read on for the lowdown on all things AB.

Evol Intent – Under The Radar EP
Evol Intent have been pretty generous with the freebies over the last few months with a solid selection of upfront D&B bangers going up on their Soundcloud for free download. The latest in the selection, Noscope, dropped a few days ago and provided more tearout vibes for the rowdy-time crowd – massive basslines and a complete lack of subtlety are the order of the day here, and we can’t argue with it at all!
For those looking to support the group in their endeavours, the Under The Radar EP (collecting recent belters including Jim Skyner, Cognitive Divergence and This Is Not A Dream) will be going on sale from December 15th. Check out the tracks below and either grab a free download or throw some dollar their way via iTunes.
RAM Annual 2015 [RAM Records]
RAM close out the year with their usual compilation of the biggest releases from this year’s catalogue, plus a few exclusives. The release features a solid selection of dancefloor D&B from RAM and sister label ProgRAM including tracks from Audio, Sub Focus, Teddy Killerz and many more, and as a pleasant bonus there’s a chunky new tune from Gerra & Stone and the VIP of Mind Vortex’s massive dancefloor roller Hotbox. Check that out below, head to Soundcloud for clips of the full selection and pick this one up from your favourite outlet now!

Concord Dawn – The Fuzz EP [Uprising]
Concord Dawn brings us a hefty selection of dancefloor weapons on his latest EP, appropriately titled The Fuzz. The title track lives up to it’s name with a massive distorted bassline driving the tune along at full pelt over a backbone of rolling breaks. Scratchy follows a similar pattern, with a tearing bass and beats combo fit to destroy any dancefloor.
Falling Down heads for slightly deeper territory, relaxing the bass vibrations to give Tali’s vocal line space to breath. Trenchcoat dials it back up again, bringing us another bassline led stomper with a fuzzy low end riff reminiscent of early Upbeats material and every bit as gnarly. Head over to Beatport to pick this one up now!
As an added bonus, the man himself has cooked up a little minimix to promote the release. Check that out below!
Q&A – The Invaderz
The Invaderz have had a busy year, the highlight of which is undoubtedly their debut LP for Commercial Suicide. Showing off the trio’s varied production styles, the album covers all the different flavours of D&B from mellow liquid rollers through grimey tech business and out into full-on bangers.
To find out a bit more about the album we caught up with the gang for a quick Q&A about their creative process and how the LP came to be. Read on…
Ed Rush – Scarabs / Boxcar [Piranha Pool]
Ed Rush launches his brand new Piranha Pool imprint with a pair of big bad neurofunk killers. Both tunes have their eyes firmly focussed on the dancefloor, and while they don’t offer tons of surprises they’ve got bass groove and production sheen in spades. Scarabs is the more up front of the two tracks while Boxcar aims for deeper but still pretty grimy territory. Programmed V3.0 [ProgRAM]
ProgRAM are back with another fine selection of dancefloor focussed D&B for the third of their “Programmed” EP series. Slang Banger turns in an old school floor shaker in the form of Rip Slinger – distorted 808 hits, monstrous reese bass and huge tearout amen breaks are the order of the day on this one. Track two sees Audio teaming up with Meth for a tidy remix of Eastcolors Murderer; not their most remarkable work but a solid roller nonetheless.
Noel turns in a similarly solid roller with tons of groove on Defence, leaving Kelle to round out the EP with a sharp, angular belter in the form of Extortion. Frenetic, head banging rhythms on this one! Check out a mini mix of the tracks below and grab the EP exclusively at Beatport now.
Cynematic – Daytona / Space City [Viper Recordings]
I’m not usually a huge fan of the synthy “big room” sound, but every now and then a release comes along which combines the clichéd elements into a perfect package, and the latest release from Russian duo Cynematic is just such a release.
Daytona brings together shimmering synths on the intro with a big, crunchy bassline and a standard but effective D&B break for a tune that combines melodic euphoria with low end weight in just the right quantities – not too soft, not too cheesy, total dancefloor energy. Space City on the flip achieves a similar balance, with an infectious groove, sparkling melodies and warm bass all playing their part in another great dancefloor roller.
Make no mistake, these aren’t the cleverest compositions in terms of stylistic originality, but sometimes it’s enough just to hone a formula to perfection, and Cynematic have done just that. Check out the clips below and grab this one from your favourite store now!
A Sides – Revisited [Eastside Records]
A Sides returns to his own Eastside Records imprint with a brand new LP full of rolling D&B vibes. While perhaps not the most original selections ever to grace the scene, the LP brings together a variety of styles and flavours with a general lean towards rolling dancefloor beats. Highlights come on the gangster-lean of Kool is Back, the techier edge of Swamp, and the soulful liquid of Reminisce, but doubtless everyone will find their own favourites.

Prolix – Transcendent EP [Trendkill Records]
Fans of Prolix will know what to expect from his latest output – the Transcendent EP sees him teaming up with some of the biggest names in the neurofunk scene for an all out assault on your senses, and the results are pure dancefloor destruction. Highlights include the supreme midrange aggression of the titular Transcendent (with Neosignal’s Misanthrop), the hard snares and off kilter riddims of Vital Condition (with MC Coppa on vocals) and the big gnarly stomper that is Next Level (featuring Offkey alumni Meth).
