RoyGreen & Protone – Warman [Demand Records]

RoyGreen & Protone touch down on Demand Records with a new EP showcasing varied sounds within the 170BPM spectrum. Lead track Warman blends together ragga vocals and a tough half-time drum rhythm for something a bit tougher than the duos usual stylings; this one is sure to get a few rewinds in the dance.

Homeground proves to be a nice little roller straddling the territory between tech and liquid; melodic samples sit side by side with a warm, crunchy bassline providing a nice contrast. Last but not least Navarro ticks all the warm liquid boxes to close out the EP with a soulful jam. This one’s out today – hit up the Demand Store to grab a copy on vinyl or digital.

Eastcolors – Could Be [Demand Records]

Demand Records aren’t messing around this year – hot on the heels of a great single from Mortem comes a new 3-track from Eastcolors showing off the first track from his forthcoming LP for the label alongside two other new beats.

Could Be provides a chunky slab of techstep with an instantly memorable vocal and some great bass modulations, followed by a big stomping remix from Hybris that’s sure to do the damage on the dancefloor. The real star of the show here though is Traffic & Noel collab Dreams; a perfect combo of smooth MCing, crisp breaks and kinetic bass. The keen eared among you may remember this from S.P.Y’s recent Essential Mix for Radio 1, and we suspect you’ll be hearing it a whole lot more over the coming weeks! Check out the clips below and pick up a copy on vinyl or digital now!

Mortem – Midnight Analogs [Demand Records]

Demand Records kick off their 2015 release schedule with a brand new single from Polish producer Mortem. Midnight Analogs takes center stage, blending techno style analogue synth lines with a soulful vocal snippet, crisp breaks and bass with a nice edge down into a tune that refuses to be pigeon-holed into a standard category. Liquid with teeth? Tech with soul? You decide.

Y.O.U on the flip takes things in a similar direction, with squelching, modulated bass grooves layered under a crisp break and some lovely atmospherics. Check out the tracks below and look out for this dropping from January 12th.
