Genre-bending vibes on today’s exclusive as we present a cut from Defrostatica’s brand new Rogue Style EP from HomeSick! Celebrating the crossover between hip-hop, footwork and D&B, Mass Appeal lurches along to a fantastic swung beat as chops, slaps and snares rain down around soft, bleepy melodies. Futuristic and retro all at once, this is that crossover sound at it’s best; look for this alongside new beats from Sinistarr, Kiat and Kabuki from May 19th.

Premiere: Johnathan Thomas – Rupture (Mark Kloud Remix)
Our latest premiere comes courtesy of Ground Mass boss Mark Kloud, who turns in a sick 160 refix of Johnathan Thomas’ new track Rupture. Out soon on Good Street Records, Mark flips around the dark halftime of the original into something with a little extra swagger on the bass and a little extra roll in the percussion. Yes yes! Best of all it’s available for free from Friday – watch the Good Street Bandcamp for the full EP dropping Dec 5th including remixes from Breaka and Walters.

Lynch Kingsley – Mute Bliss [The Dreamers]
Lynch Kingsley is back with two more fantastic slices of his crossover footwork-jungle badness for Italian clubnight-cum-record label The Dreamers, and once again is funky-ass choppage at it’s finest.
Whether it’s on the frantic vibes of Mute Bliss or the slightly more laid-back halftime syncopations of Secret Dream, Lynch’s latest work finds him on fine form once again! Check out the clips below and grab yourself some tasty breakbeat business from your favourite digital outlet.
Q&A – Beat Machine
Italian label Beat Machine have been blazing quite a trail over the past few years, bringing out top releases from the likes of Lynch Kingsley and netting themselves some big remixes to boot. We’ve been thoroughly enjoying their Swinging Flavors series so with the third instalment about to drop we grabbed label co-runner Luca for a quick chat about the Milan scene, the label’s origins and their plans for the future. Check it out!
DNB Dojo Mix Series 33: Moralz
Hot on the heels of his excellent new EP for Free Love Digi, we’ve secured a fantastic new mix from LA producer Moralz. Blending footwork, halftime D&B and hip-hop for an exuberant take on the 170BPM sound, the mix features cuts from Moralz and fellow FLD associates Thomas B and Ghast alongside beats from Fracture, Om Unit, Machinedrum, Moresounds and many more. Future jungle business!
As usual you can check out the mix via Soundcloud below or head to Mixcloud, Hearthis.at or iTunes to stream. You can also grab a download from Google Drive.
Lynch Kingsley & Block Mameli – Swinging Flavors #2 [Beat Machine]
Beat Machine continue their Swinging Flavors 7″ series with a cracking new Jungle/Footwork crossover from Lynch Kingsley & Block Mameli. From the hypnotic eastern-tinged string lick to the strong ragga vocal from Mameli the tune just oozes character, and we’re big fans of the syncopated beat structure that Lynch has been honing across his releases over the last few years.
Over on the flip Hungarian-born but now US-based DJ MADD flips the tune around, keeping the central character but taking the riddim in a different direction with elements of dub, socca and trap working their way into the mix for a slightly more laid back vibe. Another wicked entry in what’s proving to be a really innovative series from Beat Machine; check out the clips below and hit up their store to grab it on vinyl or digital right now!
