Rising talent SEVA brings us his debut release via NeurofunkGrid and it’s a bit of a doozy! Crisp, clear drums and monstrous bass are the order of the day on both tracks, and the attention to detail and texture of sound design is top notch for such a young producer. One to watch! Metalheadz bring us another must have 12″ from Lenzman! A side Empty Promise covers all the bases nicely; rolling breakbeats, soft pads, soulful vocals and just enough grime in the bassline to give the tune some teeth. Then over on the flip Makoto gives Broken Dreams the remix treatment, making the song his own while retaining the trademark vocal that made the original such a big hit on release.

N.Phect serves up a nice little freebie in the form of Human Riot. Neurofunk sensibilities pervade the tune, with some dirty bass on the go, but the tune isn’t a mere dancefloor tearer, with some nice melodic elements including some beautiful piano work. The king of glitched out neuro-infused beats to my mind is indisputably Reso. The man remains one of the few producers of interesting Dubstep and his forays into D&B tempo are always a treat, so his latest free giveaway was right up my street. When It Drop provides a tasty combination of skittering half-time beats, hip-hop sensibilities and gnarly bass, and the level of detail present in the tune is jaw dropping; every kick, snare and hi-hat has been carefully placed for optimal groove. Big!

I recently came across the rather talented up and coming dutch producer Sunaivod via a friend’s recommendation, and was particularly impressed with the quality of his output. InsideInfo’s productions have been going from strength to strength over the last couple of years, and his style of slightly-more-melodic-than-the-norm neurofunk makes a welcome change from the heftier more atonal material that many producers are slinging.
