Premiere: Onism Qi – ’96 Dreamer
Quentin Hiatus, Thomas B and Ghast return with their occasional collab alias Onism Qi this month and they’ve got a host of treats coming via Translation Recordings. ’96 Dreamer is their ode to the classic sounds of early rave music, building suspense with ethereal synth work on the intro before dropping into an electrifying assault of chopped amens and rave stabs. Massive tune! Look for this one coming Aug 16th at all good digital stores…
Premiere: Onism Qi – Fear Death Love
Today’s exclusive comes courtesy of our pals at Free Love Digi and new project Onism Qi! Representing the combined musical intelligence of Quentin Hiatus, Thomas B and Ghast and bringing the thoughtful, experimental flavours, their new EP Null Explodes is something of at treat.
Lead track Fear Death Love brings together a face melting bassline with tripped out melodies and quirky vocal loops, spread over a progression from halftime D&B, down to something vaguely dubstep and up again into a fearsome crescendo finale. Some tune! Watch out for the EP dropping 6th March at all good digital stores.
Premiere: Thomas B – Nectar (Ghast Remix)
Free Love Digi return with a top notch new EP from Thomas B & Ghast, and we’ve got the exclusive on the latter’s tasty new remix of the former’s Nectar. Experimental riddims and a deft little tempo duck in the bridge make for a wicked ride.

January Roundup Part Two
Another month has flown by in a flurry of wind, snow (here in Scotland at least…) and beats, so it’s time for another roundup! New material from Ed:it, Ghast, Saxxon and more after the jump… Continue reading
Ghast – The Drake Equation EP [Free Love Digi]
Free Love Digi bring us yet another essential release, cementing the label’s reputation for cutting edge 170BPM sounds. Nootropics opens the salvo on Ghast’s latest work, showing a clever progression from the raging tech of the drop into the mellower and more atmospheric tones of the second half of the track. Retrovertigo sees this atmosphere flowing onwards into glitchy, half-time drums and deep, rich synth leads and atmospheres.
The Drake Equation brings the tone to a darker place again, with creepy synths and frenetic, jungle-infused drums clattering away as the tune drives along. Last but not least Vice Versa brings together twisted jazz licks, eastern vocal cut ups and a slouching, hip-hop-ish beat for the EP’s most “far out” track. Truly innovative stuff. Check out the clips below and grab this from your favourite digital store from December 1st.
Freebie Roundup

Once again downloads available via the Soundcloud players below.
