Competition: Win Tickets to Rockwell’s LP launch!
After years of waiting Rockwell’s debut LP is nearly upon us, with the album dropping on CD, vinyl and digital from Nov 27th via Friction’s Shogun Audio imprint. Featuring some big collabs with the likes of Phace, Breakage and Sam Binga and a wide variety of material, there’s everything from the unashamedly pop stylings of Faces to out and out D&B bangers like Rave Cult and Itsok2behapp-e with plenty of room to take in hip-hop, grime and future bass in between. It’s a fantastic album from a man who has clearly spent time ensuring he won’t be pigeonholed.
To celebrate Obsolete Medium’s release Rockwell is throwing a launch party on Nov 25th at The Brewhouse in London featuring a special past/present/future 100% Rockwell set and sets from “undercover Shogun artists” whose identities shouldn’t be too hard to guess from the tongue in cheek names on the lineup. Full details of the event can be found on Facebook.
Best of all we’ve got a competition to run! We’ve got a signed copy of the album and two tickets to the launch party to give to one lucky winner; all you have to do is like the DNB Dojo Facebook page and send an email to competitions@dnbdojo.co.uk with your name and the subject line “Rockwell Competition”. We’ll draw the winner on Monday 23rd – good luck! Please note the album will be available for collection at the event only – make sure you can get to the club if you enter!
20/20 LDN – Om Unit, Deft, Hannah Faith & Ivy Lab
Good news for fans of the experimental 170 sound in our nation’s capital – Ivy Lab are starting up their own club night! Entitled 20/20 LDN, the new night aims to showcase “the emerging landscape of fusions between Drum and Bass, Hip Hop, Footwork, and Future-Soul”. Not a bad aim methinks.
The first event on June 11th will feature sets from Om Unit, Hannah Faith and Deft (with support from Ivy Lab themselves). To celebrate, the team are giving away a series of free bootlegs, the first of which you can hear below as Sabre gives Jeru Da Damaja’s Come Clean a gritty halftime refix. Head over to the 20/20 LDN Facebook page for a free download of the track and check out the full event details here.
Renegade Hardware 18th Birthday @ Cable
The legendary Renegade Hardware label turns 18 years old next month and they’re celebrating by bringing a truly ridiculous lineup to Cable in London.
Room 1 sees Hardware bringing nothing but B2B techstep & neurofunk with scene stalwarts like Audio & Cause4Concern playing alongside newcomers such as Memtrix and Maztek. Expect heavy, heavy dubplate vibes.
Room 2 meanwhile will be playing host to deeper vibes with sets from the likes of Loxy and Skeptical and what’s sure to be a breathtaking live set from Amit.
Check out all the details here and grab yourself an early bird ticket while the getting is good!
