Loomis returns to Ink’s Architecture Recordings imprint with a beautiful new cut entitled Dual Realities. There’s certainly a duality at the heart of the track; shimmering synth leads reminiscent of Blade Runner sit alongside hard edged break chops and glitches, marrying dark with light to epic effect. Look for this coming Sept 24th!

Premiere: NOVALU & VRUM – Bitterkuss
German producers NOVALU and VRUM team up on today’s premiere! Forthcoming on Hyperobject sublabel TÖ TÖ TAM TAM, Bitterkuss demonstrates a knack for punchy, futuristic sound design while still retaining a soulful side often lost in the technicalities of modern D&B. Look for this coming Nov 12th at all good digital stores!
Premiere: Intervore – Frameshift
Dutch producer Intervore delivers today’s exclusive with a deep tech rumbler. Building out with rich synth arpeggios on the intro before blending these melodic elements with a backbone of morphing tech bass and crisp drums, this one is both hefty and hypnotic…journeys through sound. Premiere: Smuskind & Seibel – Orbit
Drum Army are back with another top release featuring a host of up and coming producers on the techy side of the D&B game, and we’re hyped to present the premiere of Smuskind & Seibel’s Orbit. Powered along by a wickedly funky yet dark-edged synth bassline, this one has a top quality groove but still enough heft for the dancefloor. Moody vibes! The EP is out today at Beatport with other stores following in two weeks.
Premiere: Quentin Hiatus – Star 4788
The ever prolific Free Love Digi boss Quentin Hiatus returns to his home turf for one more release this year and he’s heading back to his 2-step roots for an unusually “Drum & Bass-y” EP compared to his more experimental output in recent times. Star 4788 combines a rich, enveloping synth melody, soft vocal accents and a crispy backbone of breaks and bass for an utterly enchanting journey powered by melody and warmth. Lose yourself in this one! The Sage Mode EP lands December 18th at digital stores…
Premiere: Trex – Manic Culture
One of our favourite imprints returns to the Dojo premiere spotlight; The Dreamers are back at it and this time we’ve got the exclusive on Manic Culture from London producer Trex. Harnessing a bubbling synth melody and playful basslines against a backbone of 2-step D&B goodness, this one sizzles along nicely. Watch out for the EP coming 4th December exclusive at Beatport…
Premiere: Wresker & Kilobite – One Night
Something a bit different on today’s premiere as Wresker & Kilobite join forces on an epic, synth-led journey for Peng Dominion! Taking it’s cues as much from 80s synth bands as contemporary liquid D&B, One Night brings an unusual sonic pallet to the D&B landscape for an emotional, evocative roller. Wicked track! Look for this coming Nov 2nd at all the usual outlets…
Neonlight – Power Hour EP [Lifted Music]
Neonlight return to Lifted Music with another EP of their signature synth-led, 80s tinged drum & bass…putting the funk back into neurofunk, one might say. The EP kicks off with Power Hour, a track which rides high on a current of appropriately powerful and catchy melody underpinned with hefty sub and high impact drum lines.
Next up comes Basso Continuo, which sees faintly salsa-ish rhythms on the intro giving way to a driving sub bass line decorated nicely with FX and synth flourishes, and topped off with a nice little synth melody just before the breakdown which sounds very Castlevania-esque. The 8-bit tinged sound which Neonlight pursue continues to endear their work to me!
Finally we’re treated to the “Rock & Roll Edit” of Sprech Funk, which proves to be a no-nonsense slice of precise, rolling tech-funk. Three cheers for German engineering! Check out the clips below and grab the EP from your favourite digital outlet now!
