Rolling beats on today’s exclusive guest mix as Blendits boss Chris Harmonics steps up with a 45 minute selection. As you’d expect given the label’s MO, the mix combines the rough and the smooth with liquid rollers from the ikes of Calibre and Mistical sitting alongside tougher tech beats from Bredren, Phentix and blendits crewmembers Mindmapper & Silvahfonk. There’s also a host of dubplate fire in there so watch out for those unreleased beats.

A mega production team-up on our latest exclusive as we present the premiere of Think About The Future. Taken from the forthcoming Ill Truth Presents Volume One LP for Lockdown Recordings, the track sees London trio Kolectiv teaming up with Bristol heads MEDIKA and Kyrist for a deep, dark slice of tech-edged D&B; seriously moody vibes on this one. Look for the album dropping Feb 26th exclusively on Beatport with other outlets coming two weeks later.

Swapping the subtle rolling vibes of the original for a harder hitting arrangement, this one has grit, depth and more than enough heft for the dancefloor. Long standing UK techstep imprint AutomAte return this month after a fairly lengthy hiatus with new music from French producer Oxius! Providing more of that dark, gritty, futuristic sound that the label has built a solid reputation for pushing, Oxius comes correct with precision beats and interesting drum patterns, and of course plenty of hefty bass distortion. Check it out below and watch for the release dropping Feb 20th.
Lost Recordings are back this month with another hefty release, this time with Bristol producer Modu at the controls. Template kicks off with dark bass and funky drums before a second-half switchup into full-on amen smasher. Sick! Watch out for this one dropping Feb 18th at all good stores.
Our latest exclusive mix comes from Leeds DJ and producer Linear. With releases for C Recordings, Skankandbass and Nu Venture, Linear is fast gaining a reputation for well-crafted, dancefloor-focused D&B; watch out for plenty more from him this year.

John Rolodex returns to his own Machinist Music imprint this month with one of his most varied and enjoyable collections of material to date. DreamCypher kicks off the EP, combining growling sub bass, dubby percussion and eastern samples for a hypnotic, trance like journey through one of John’s recurring dreams. This feels like the soundtrack to an opium den re-imagined via the medium of drum & bass, and it’s a really inventive piece of work.
BoneBender continues the trend, combining unusual percussion with menacing bass set to a halftime rhythm that’s nonetheless packed full of energy. Insistent woodblock drum patterns and a siren-like top-end loop make for another absorbing ride through a fevered imagination.
InnaZone is more vintage Rolodex, and definitely the most conventional track on the EP; old school reese bass drones and a cymbal-heavy rolling 2-step beat keep this one up there with previous Dojo favourite Warship Worship. This will smash up a dance! Last up Until The Sky Takes Me drops the tempo to 160 and brings to mind early 90s releases for the likes of Metalheadz; classic jungle samples and chunky chopped breakbeats characterise a tune with plenty of depth and character, tasteful homage rather than lazy rip-off.
