Portuguese imprint Counterpoint Recordings are back this month with a remix EP and we’ve got the exclusive on London production duo Displaced Paranormals’ take on Bassment’s Split. The new remix retains the distinctive bass growls of the original while flipping the subterranean halftime groove into a tech roller more than worthy of a club dancefloor. Crispy! Look for this dropping alongside new remixes from PRTCL, DBR UK and Section from June 16th.
We’ve got another tidy exclusive from our pals at Nurtured Beatz today as we present the title track from the new Quantum Mechanix EP Dirty Tricks. This one is a groove-driven techstep roller with a classic beat and a wicked morphing bassline; infectious business. Look for this dropping June 12th at Bandcamp and June 19th everywhere else.
The latest exclusive Dojo mix comes from Polish producer Skeletone who delivers a mix rammed full of exclusive dubplates! With releases on Fokuz, Celsius, Occulti Music, Flight Pattern and Soul Trader, Rob has been carving quite a name for himself as a purveyor of top notch rolling D&B and his Dojo mix showcases exactly that talent.

We’ve got a bumper Premiere today as we present the first Soundcloud clips of the brand new EP from Brakken for Tech Itch Recordings! Currently shrouded in mystery all we know about Brakken so far is that he is a old warrior of the scene operating under a new identity; doubtless time will reveal the artist’s former aliases, but for now all we have is the beats.
Said beats are impressive indeed and fans of the dark-edged techstep sound will definitely find plenty to enjoy here; from the deep, rolling reese bass of Shadow Art through the industrial-tinged halftime of In My Room, out into the 90s style ‘headz-y vibes of Shaper Scratch and finishing up with moody stepper Let Go, this is clearly the work of an artist with deep roots in the scene and plenty of ideas to explore. Sick stuff!
