DNB Dojo Mix Series 29: Spindall
We’re big fans of Nurtured Beatz here at DNB Dojo so naturally we jumped at the chance to get label co-owner Spindall on board for a mix! He’s turned in a 100% Beatz selection featuring a ton of dubs and true to the label’s ethos the selections are deep, dark and absolutely heavyweight.
As usual you can check out the mix via Soundcloud below or head to Mixcloud, Hearthis.at or iTunes to stream. You can also grab a download from Google Drive.

DNB Dojo Mix Series 28: Kush T
We’ve been keeping a close eye on Kush T since we first came across him via releases for Terabyte and Avantgarde, and we’re big fans of his grimey, minimalist style of D&B. With another release just out on Counterpoint Recordings, we jumped at the chance to get the man on board the Dojo Mix Series!
Pete has delivered a punchy 30 minute selection of rolling D&B with a few cheeky dubplate exclusives and a fine selection featuring the likes of Total Science, Break, Amoss and plenty more. Check it out below and hit up the Counterpoint Bandcamp to grab his Quiet Minds EP right now!

Dojo Damager: Chroma – Intermission (Break Remix)
Break on the remix…need we say more? The hardest working man in D&B turns in a chunky new take on Chroma’s Intermission for their new EP on CIA Records and it features that magical combo of crispy funk breaks and teched out bass that always gets the dance moving. Big! Check out the clip below and look for this one on vinyl or digital from Friday.
Premiere: Opex & CTB – Drive
We’ve got the scoop on another brand new track today as we present the premiere of the lead track from Step Forward Music‘s debut release. Slovakian duo Opex & CTB are on the buttons with the rolling tech groove of Drive; wicked stuff! Check out the clip below and look for the release dropping March 24th!
Coma – Burn The Past EP [Flexout Audio]
The latest release from London imprint Flexout sees Coma stepping up to the plate with a four track EP full of deep, dark flavours and some tasty collaborations.
Gritty tech minimalism is the order of the day here, with plenty of crisp percussion and grimy bass to drive the tunes along. Dionysus is one of the obvious highlights, combining the swaggering vocals of Sense MC with an ominous combo of kick, snare and heavy sub.
Out into the back side of the EP there are also some slick collabs with Arkaik and Semitone, and overall this is a tight cross-section of murky tracks for those who like their D&B threatening and minimal. Check out the clips below and hit up the Flexout Bandcamp to grab the release right now!
Classic Tracks: John Rolodex – 2016 Redux
John Rolodex returns to the scene after a few years pursuing other projects and he’s bringing fresh remasters of his back catalogue to the table, starting with a six track EP of beats from 2002-2004. Originally released by Metalheadz, Tech Itch and Dread Recordings, the tracks feature all the classic hallmarks of golden era dark D&B, namely big badass reese basslines and frantic break chopping.
With fresh masters from T.Power these tracks are sounding as fresh as they did a decade ago, with the likes of Can’t See Me and Dark Obsession still more than capable of smashing up a rave or three. Check out the EP below and look for it via the Machinist Music bandcamp from Monday.
Classic Track: Raiden – Fallin
Raiden’s artistic contributions to the harder end of Drum & Bass over the years yielded plenty of iconic tracks, and his absence from the scene is felt keenly now that his output is more focussed on his Kamikaze Space Program and Dot Product projects in lower tempo arenas.
For today’s classic selection we’re winding back to 2002 and possibly his most anthemic track, the epic Fallin. Released on Renegade Hardware as part of the Four Elements EP series, the combination of hypnotic lead melody, haunting vocal echoes and rugged bass and beats make for a track that still does the damage nearly 15 years on. Whether it’s the original or the more recent “Revisited” mix (which you can grab for free here), this one always smashes up the dance. Pure vibes.
Dojo Damager: Seppa – Trojan
This week’s Damager comes courtesy of longtime Dojo favourites AutomAte who have signed up the rather talented Seppa for the latest single on their Tech imprint. Trojan combines some seriously punchy off-kilter drum programming with a cheeky vocal sample and dangerous bassline for an angular riddim that lands like body blows from the heavyweight champ. This one should have the crowds bobbing and weaving! Check out the clip below and hit up your favourite digital store to grab a copy right now.
